October 24, 2006 - 8 Days After Surgery
I took this picture of Aiden this morning while he was wolfing down a breakfast of bananas, cherry bread and apple juice. Although you can't see it, his head bandage is still there. However, we got permission from the surgeon at the post-op on Monday to trim the bandage as it starts to peel away. So, it's a bit smaller today (but not much).
As you can see, Aiden's spirits are as good as ever. Nanny is babysitting today while Ric and I work and Noah is at daycare, so they should have a great day together!

I have been following the progress of our little champion, and am more than thrilled to know that he is doing so well. By this stage, he has Halloween under his belt. He is almost closer to being "turned on" than he is to his surgery. things are going well. Hooray for our wee man!
We are closer to 'turn on' than ever!!! You know, I was thinking last night - as we had a HORRENDOUS drive home from Ottawa (I would have sworn that Aiden was not capable of crying for 2 1/2 hours straight. I was wrong) this will be the LAST time that we drive from Ottawa back home to Belleville that Aiden will not be able to hear me. Next time I will be able to tell him, "it's okay Aiden, play with your brother for a few minutes - we'll be home soon!" Now, he might not UNDERSTAND that for awhile - but at least it will be something!!!
Oh dear. You and I hung up the phone last night just when Aiden started to cry on your way home. Sounds like the drive was less than pleasant which I know must be hard without someone else there to help out with screaming children.
I hope he is doing better today.
I know that he can't hear anything, but oh my gosh, he can't hear you console him when he cries in the car. Oh dear. Let's get that implant turned on!!!!!
